KiGa FARM

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

We are learning so much more...

Religious Education

Religious education in our preschool does not occur in an isolated fashion, but is integrated into the complete educational work. We offer 4 main focus points:

1.) to develop a love and understanding of God, (i.e. Christmas, St.Martin and Easter)

2.) to develop a tolerance and appreciation of people from all over the world.

3.) to promote positive behaviors and confidence building in all of our students.

4.) Prayers are offered at meal time and during times of great joy, unrest and turmoil.

Music Time

A lot could be enumerated that is enhanced by singing. Just think about the memory alone since children are required to learn songs by heart. It is important that I do it joyfully and thus are able to provide children with a repertoire of songs.

Circle Time

We have 4 circle times throughout the day. In our first circle time get together we practice writing our names in our journal .We sing different "Good Morning "songs as we greet each other. We also talk about any special events, the children may have experienced over the weekend or throughout the week.

In our second circle time we learn and sing about the" Days of the week" and the "Months of the year". We look at the weather outside and give the weather report on our pretend TV. We also count and each day we put a number on our number chart until we finally reach "100". We learn different Vocabulary and German Words. We talk about our "Safety Rules" in the classroom and say the "Pledge of Allegiance" and Star Spangle Banner Song

In the third circle time we learn all about" Letters, Colors, Numbers and Shapes". The children share there "Show and Tell Letter Bag".

We read Books and also learn about the Author, the Illustrator and the 3 parts of the Book and the Story.

In our fourth circle time of the day we have fun. We play and sing circle games and sing our "Good Bye" song to each child.
